5GEM
5G Enabled Manufacturing (5GEM) UK seeks to deploy 5G in anindustrial/ manufacturing setting through two separate use cases.The first will be at Fords E:PriME facility, centred around laserwelding technology for electric vehicle components. The secondwill be at TWI, deployed on one of VFEs Vacuum furnaces.The technology utilised will be a Vodafone 5G network and theissues surrounding cyber security, network architecture andstandards will be addressed.It is hoped to demonstrate a number of the opportunities affordedby 5G communications. Additional partners will work on topicssuch as AI based predictive maintenance, remote support usingVR/AR and Digital Twins.
